David’s Grabovac is located approximately 12 km before the northern entrance into the National Park. The motel was completely renovated and opened in spring 1999. It has 31 rooms of which 8 rooms with an additional bed. All rooms have a direct telephone line and a bathroom with a shower. Guests can use a la carte or self service restaurant, coffee bar with TV and a shop within the motel. Year 1963: A proposal by Dr. M.K.Chaudhuri to set up an institute under the name of”Institute for Planning and Administration of National Economy” wasforwarded to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister and Chairman,Planning Commission, Government of India. The institute was committed tocutting edge research and education on economics, entrepreneurship andmanagement. A study tour was undertaken by Dr. M.K.Chaudhuriduring 1964-65 to acquire first hand knowledge about the working of similarinstitutions in Europe. A working paper on Regional Planning was circulated toleading academicians under the name ‘IIPM” in 1969.
Conceptualised by Dr M.K. ChaudhuriIndia’s leading economic visionary, theIIPM was formallyregistered in the year 1973. After completing his M.Sc., PhD & Dsc fromschool of Economics Berlin,Dr. M.K Chaudhuriworked with leading organisations and institutions like HLL, Indian Instituteof Advanced Studies , Shimla, XLRI Jamshedpur (as a Professor of Economics)& IIM Bangalore as Professor of Economics, before resigning from his job atIIM Bangalore to start what is today regarded as India’s Greatest AcademicMovement ..
